Critique this layout. Thanks!

So I need some advice on weather this looks good or could use some tweaks. Let me know what you think. Very recently set up, pardon the cloudiness and crappy phone photos. Any advice is appreciated!

not sure. Just local CT stone that was vinegar tested and then boiled. I think it looks ok.

I do plan on making changes to the back-round, lighting and filtration but would like some opinions while I get everything settled. I am hoping to have an Iwagumi type layout for the hardscape with a bit of a jungle plant-scape. Any pointers are much appreciated, this is my first attempt at an Iwagumi layout. Thanks!

I don't know much about it but from what I gather with Iwagumi the stones (which I think should be an odd number) Should have a natural form to their arrangement, sort of flowing from one to the other. You start by always placing the biggest one, the master/primary/Oyaishi rock, then smaller ones follow. I found this article to be good when I was looking into the subject. I'm unsure of how much you already know so sorry if you knew all this already :P

Thanks for the input Jonny! I liked the article.

Do you all think the stone on the right side should be rotated 180* to add to the flow, or is it ok as it sits?

Thanks alipper! Those Blyxa are shoots off the ones from you. I might take you up on some of those plants you offered after a bit of research.

Let me know. BTW I kept 1 stem of blyxa and sold ya the 5 or 6 others ones a while back. From my 1 stem, I now have 8 off shoots in my high light, co2 setup. They are loving the tank.

I think at the moment you have that nice V shape going on and could perhaps add a few rocks to each side.

If you do turn it round I would probably put it as the second from the left as it is the second largest.

But I am no Iwagumi expert lol

I do kind of like the V shape. I may add another " sacrificial" stone that is mostly buried on he right side. I also plan on using a canister filter instead of the hob filter, which I think will allow for a cleaner overall look. I also have external plans for this tank that should be great.

That sounds great, maybe with a third smaller stone on the left too to keep the total number at an odd number and take away that symmetry of having two on each side?

Ooooh what are the external plans?

Apart from that I think once the planting grows in it is going to look even better. I have to say though I think it looks great as it is

External plans include a light upgrade from the clamp-ons to three architect lamps. Adding a canister filter, and the last plan is the biggest. I noticed after setting up the tank that the top board on the dresser that the tank is on is laminate..... So to keep water off the surface, I will be building a solid wood half box (poly/stained) for the bottom and back of the tank to add strength and to distribute the weight as well. In addition it will give me a place to screw in mount the lamps.
