First planted tank: 2.5 gallon bowl

Here is a picture of my first planted tank. I plan to get a less visible heater. Any advice on which plants might look nice in this set-up?
No ferts, 50% water change per week.

Houses a female betta.

I love looking at the tanks in this thread- some amazing ones. I know this bowl's nothing special but I am enjoying this new hobby

welcome and cool looking tank! One note, most of the bowls have substrates such as potting soil for nutrients. It looks like you have gravel only then you may want to consider some nutrients in the water or root tabs.

Added a few more plants- do you think it looks a bit crowded?

it does look a bit crowded but it is still very cool! I have been wanting to start a bowl but I can't find one i am happy with haha. I want it 2.5-5gallons haha so its my own fault for being picky.

the plants look healthy for having no substrate!

the bowl is still up and running, though I did lose a few plants due to a lack of nutrients most likely. I have begun another tank- this one is a 7 gallon tank, with root tabs. I am dosing with excel once weekly.

Home to 5 celestial pearl danios and a betta.

I am having good luck with staurogyne repens in low tech set ups. It's a nice bright green.

Excel only lasts 24hrs. Ive never seen a weekly dose, so I would suggest daily
