I have been trying to purchase some cardinal tetras for a while but before I do what would be the best water conditions and tank setup. Also how many of them should be kept together. Any information would be appreciated?

PH 6.5-7.0 temperature about 80degrees F they should be fine. Cardinals won't school as much as they adapt to the tank, unless you have a larger fish that will keep them in check.

What is the easiest way to sex cardinal tetras and are they hard to breed? Someone once told me tha their eggs take 2-3 weeks to develop and I was wondering if this is true?

With tetra's I'm gonna say that if you have to ask, you probably arent ready just yet..., I have not tried cardinals but had managed to get neons to spawn a few times, sadly I did not know at the time how to get the eggs to hatch and watched them turn white 1 by 1 a few times, till I got tired of it...

I wouldn't plan on breeding cardinals. As for sexing to me I look at them everyday they all look the same or maybe I can have all males and all females! Who knows? 8)

Default betas and neon Tetra's

Hi I just bought a 2 gallon tank and i right now have 3 neon tetra's living in it. The set-up includes a lil rock house, a plant, air filter, pump, and a light.

Now the question is would it be ok if i put 1 male or female betta in there? And would it be to crowded? Please e-mail me your response at tnlovebugsboy187@charter.net

Thank You
Michael

It's already crowded as it is. I would remove the neons and put a single Betta.
