AquaClear 110 vs Marineland C-220

What are your thoughts/opinions on these 2? My old Fluval 204 finally died on me and I need to replace it tomorrow.
Tank is a 40 tall with angels, plecos and spixi snails. I like running to canisters on this tank, I'm also running a SunSun on it.

The marineland filter is one i have never used while having experience with the aquaclear 110 for over a decade. I currently run it on a 20g high tank with a high bioload and plant density which cuts line of sight no matter which angle you look.

Because the tank is planted, the. Filter runs with only the course sponge. A second sponge was used for a brief time but the flow was tremendously cut down. Its a clear winner if one wished to drop a bag of purigen or charcoal for some spot cleaning...

My current silter has. Been running for three years without a day off without any noises or problems starting if that speaks anything toward its reliability...

There is a new hob filter which many have dubbed the aquaclear 2.0 as it uses the same motor but introduces a 5(actually 4) stage filtration. If i were to get another hob, that would be my front runner.

The AC 110 is an absolute workhorse but I just can't stand the noise that Hobs make so I would have to choose the canister. I've never had the C- series so i can't really comment on it but I believe the sun sun filters are a carbon copy of them and my 304b has big enough media trays to fit a small country inside.

Sun sun and the c series are not an exact copy, they look similar but that's it.
The JBJ reaction canister is an exact copy of the sun sun. If your not injecting co2 the AC will do fine. I love my AC's

Are you referring to the fluval c4? Have that filter and it is great.

A bit late, but...

I run the C220 on my tank and absolutely love it. Very quiet and versatile. I have not no problems with mine.
