New scape oops

Spent a lot of time on this 2nd tank, making sure I got my scape just right. Move this here, does this rock look good? Back and forth trying to figure it out, we'll a 10 second test would have told me if the DW floated

"Well if the wood doesn't sink you must rethink" so now I'm boiling wood in the driveway. Gotta love what we will do for this hobby.

I'm not really as mad as I look. Just the PG version of when I was flooding the tank. There were some bad words used there.

Boiling wood is as much fun as it sounds. It's a windy day with the turkey cooker outside

Heehee, boiling wood is never fun! And in my experience, it's been kinda stinky too!

Might be easier to superglue a rock to the bottom of the wood.

Out of curiosity, how long do you need to boil it, anyway?

Well I boiled it it for a long a$$ time and both pieces are floating like nothing ever happened. Anybody ever got a piece of DW that just never sank without weights?

Not to bust your bubble... But no

Generally I either pinned it down with something or weighted it with rocks :-/

I tied mine down to a large flat rock that was covered up with the gravel. I could not get mine to sink after boiling and then after 2 years it still floats.
I have also heard of people using a stainless screw and fastening it to a tile and covering it up.

I think that's whats going to happen. Still looked like a cork after boiling.

I've heard you can also glue a suction cup or two to the bottom of the wood and suction on to the bottom of the glass. Would that work?

I tied fishing weights to another piece and that worked just buried the lead. This piece I couldn't hide the weights.
