Are my Rams Make and Female?

I got theses two about a month ago, the guy said they were male and female, but I'm not so sure?? The "male" in the background has sparkles through his black spot too??

The frontmost ram does appear to be a female, and I am fairly sure the other is a male. It may help if you are able to get a better picture of the one in the background.

I think you got two females there. They look good though...put a male in with them if you can, to bring out their coloration better.

Here's my pair, for reference. Not a great shot of the female, but you can see her colors aren't as intense.

I agree the front one does appear to be male need a better view of the second to determine. See the pinkish belly on Fishbowlings pair that is a sure sign of a female. While not a great shot you can still see the rosey belly.

Okay, had to lure her out with food to get a better shot. She is not nearly as phone camera-friendly as her mate; I felt like I was one of those camera guys on the "Planet Earth" crew camped out for days to get 15 seconds of video.
