Just bought an Eclipse 1 for the kids 10 gal. from Big Al's. They wrapped the box in bubble wrap, slapped a sticker on it and sent it out the door. Fortunately, it arrived in good shape but it seems to me like they just as well have put a sticker on it that said "Go ahead, break me. I dare you".
I also just read a thread in another forum about a guy who bought some computer memory and the vendor shipped it in a UPS 2nd day bubble envelope. He wasn't as lucky as me, the memory arrived damaged. Somebody pointed out that they probably weighed the cost of the occasional replacement to the cost of better packaging and decided to take the risk.
