fizz factory tablets

i bought a 16 pack thinking i coulod just drop them in but then i read your suppose to havethe ''fizz factory'' to use... i have 2 5 gallon nano tanks.
so my ? is could i just drop them in or will this do nothing or harm my betta

I don't know if it would harm the Betta but..

The fizz factory is just a plastic bottle to hold water with an outlet for an air tube and then a bell type diffuser that fill with the CO2. You could make the factory yourself with a small pop bottle with a hole drilled in it for the first part and then some type of bell diffuser (a plastic bowl or something inside the tank)

I'm betting that dropping these into the tank will play hell with your water chemistry.

Well that's the thing with the fizz factory. There is no way to regulate the flow, it shoots it all out at once with no air stone into a big 'ol bell diffuser (looks brutal). I didn't care for the system at all. Like Rex said, it probably will mess with your water chemistry if you drop it in the tank.

If I were you I would scrap those things and go get a juice bottle and start up a DIY system, make a vortex reactor or something and your in business. That's what I did (after buying the fizz factory) and haven't looked back since.
