Back to the North Shore

I just moved out of the dorms. Back to the North shore.

I ended up just draining my tank down to three inches and throwing it in the truck. Put water back in and I'm now watching my endlers search for food. Easy transition.

I have one day off before starting work again. Anyone know of any good shops on the north shore? I'm heading to Boston Pets in Peabody tomorrow if anyone wants me to look for anything there

Don't go to Boston pets unless you want angel fishes. It's a mom and pop store with your basic chain store fish selection. Hardly any plants. Check out unique aquaria in Woburn. Call first to "make an appointment". Pretty much is there way of guaranteeing someone will be at the store not out making an airport run or ups run. Lovely pets in Quincy. The pet shop in Allston (kinda gross tanks and very ehhhhhh not recommended lol) tropic isle in Framingham. There's also another in newton that I never been too.

There are a few small shops around here that have some plants. I just found two random, yet good sized amazon swords in my tank...no idea where they came from. It's not even a big tank. Only 6.6 gallons.

I'm not all that observant.

I want to put a shout out to Aquatic Treasures in Brighton / Watertown. Sheldon gets some boss fish in (nice show discus and blue guppies). It's definitely a place where you can see the fish get a lot of love. Check out the Facebook page for the correct address.

I've been out to a couple places so far. I'm in the market for a nice looking, male betta. Honestly...the best I've seen are the Petsmart half moons.

Im looking for a local breeder! I'm sure there has to be at least one in MA! It's either that or import show class bettas from Thai.

Just got back from Boston pets. They really have done some work in there. The selection was pretty good. They carry all of the seachem products as well as fluval. Peter is a great guy. His specialty is in cichlids. Decent selection of plants. I'll definitely be back in there

The great thing about Boston Pets is that Peter is very receptive of new ideas.
I just wish it was "on my way home from work" now like it was last year.

I pass boston pets everyday on my commute and never stop because of one bad experience there. I will definitely give it another chance now, maybe tomorrow actually.

Went into a big chain store today and the fish guy kept telling me that my ammonia level was, "about 10%". When I asked him what was in a fertilizer they had, his response was, "pot-ah-sai-um" and "I-Ron". Potassium and iron...yeah

A northshore Petsmart...I won't say their specific location, but its easy to figure out. They had good plants, dwarf hair grass, java ferns (regular and needle leaf), great anubias, lots more. Only problem was that the instructions on the java ferns a s Anubias stated to bury the plant up to the leaves in gravel...

I found a fish! Vibrant red double tail half moon betta. I searched for three weeks and finally found one that I like. Went to five different small pet shops and a handful of others. Ended up finding him at....Petco
