100 gallon journal(10-18-06)56k warning

So i have been waiting for this tank for a long time.....i finally picked it up friday. So here is the start of the new journal.....
The tank size is 60"L 18"w 20"h
My plan is to have Puresserized co2(milwakee W/ pH controller) the lighting will be DIY. I plan on using ECO-complete for the substrate but i might just do half eco-complete and have regular black gravel on top.

Yeah i know, but i have had a little trouble with my car lately... so this pay check(on saturday) will give me money i can spend on it....so ill update soon...

The only thing that i dont have planned out is the lighting......i want to DIY but i dont know if there is enough room for enough lights to have a high light tank....i dont want to lose the hood....any ideas.....ill try to get pictures to show how big the hood is......

Just mount the lights directly to the inside of the canopy. You would be suprized how many you ca actually squeeze in there.

Sorry no updates on any of my stuff the internet has been down for a month and i havent be able to go on at all....sorry.....

Update(kinda) Nothing has changed except for the equipment. I bought the Ehiem pro 2 2026 for the tank, im hopeing that its enough filtration. And i also bought a co2 tank. The only other things i have to get are all the misc. stuff.

But i have a couple of questions about the lighting, its going to be DIY. I know what i need but not exactly. I know i need end caps, ballasts, fans, reflectors and bulbs. But what i dont know is what brand are the best or if i should put fluoresent or PC. O and the tank is 24inches tall and i dont know what the best lighting would be to get to the bottom of the tank.....any help is awesome.....Thanks


O yeah, everything i do when i set up the tank will be documented by pictures so everyone can follow...


Each side of the canopy top is 31 1/4 inch....(shown below).....that is where i plan to mount the lighting.

So if i get teh 6 x 55 watt Bright Kit that would be enough light to hit the bottom of the tank?

O yeah i forgot to mention that i have access to a Electrical supply place and i can get everything at cost. Would it be better to do it piece by piece or just get a kit?

With a 6X55 Bright Kit you should have no problems. As for getting it at cost, hard to know. Dont know what you would be paying.
