Crypt question


I have two crypts in my 10g and I absolutely adore the c. undulata. Is it possible to divide it like you would a terrestrial clumping plant? It's nice and thick. I don't want to hurt it, but I'd love to put some in another tank and spread the love. Thanks.

Yes. Plants form on roots as they grow along the surface of the substrate. Just make sure there are enough new roots to support the new plant.

also if you are having trouble planting it due to it having too-long roots, you can trim the roots. the roots can often form into new plantlets, just leave em floating in the tank. once you see leaves forming, plant them (i plant these emersed to speed growth). easy way to propagate.
