I've got a 2.5 gallon minibow that I want to set up at work. I have flourite and gravel for the substrate, and I replaced the incandesent bulb with an AGA power compact 10 watts 6700K. I have a submersible 25 watt heater and I will be getting an Azoo palm filter. I plan to keep a few neon tetras and maybe an oto.

Now I need plant suggestions! I'm going to use Flourish Excel for carbon. I know I need at least one fast grower. Can you guys give me any suggestions for which plants would work well in this set-up?

Sounds like a great little set up. You could try almost anything that doesn't outgrow your tank (no large sword plants or tall valisneria). You will have 4 watts per gallon and most things will grow under that.

Micranthemum micranthemaides. Nice stem plant with very small leaves.

Glossostigma. Small leaves, stays along the substrate. Goof foreground plant.

Lilaeopsis. A grassy plant that stays very short. Also a good foreground plant.

There are a lot of options. But these are a few plants that keep small leaves and will help keep the illusion of a larger tank.
