New Finnex Ray 2 /Methods of reduction if needed?

Hi,
I have just bought a new finnex ray 2 48" for a tall 60gall tank(30" deep). I started thinking that it might be to high a light level without co2 (initially). Has anyone used a dimmer with LED's? What other methods might there be for the proper reduction of this light system? I would like it to work up to Co2 later on in a few months, but for now I will run without. I have liquid or dry ferts and tabs too, I'll add those accordingly.

Thanks ahead!

I've read that a good way to dim the light is to obstruct it with screen, like you would use for a window. It diffuses the light a bit. Also, if you don't have a glass top, get one.. those reduce light a tad as well.

Typically, though, for more 'proper' reduction people usually hang their light fixtures above the tank.

Also there is no dimmer for the Finnex Ray 2 and trying to use one would likely damage the light. I'd go with hanging the light personally and if that's not an option the screens would work. I recall seeing a thread that went over what percentage of light was blocked depending on the type of screen used somewhere on this forum

This is what I was hoping for, info on the ability of the light to be dimmed and such. So I think I'll go with hanging or mounting somehow.

ThankX alot guys!
