From ashland here, Imo the choice of petshops isnt much here. Just a local chain Berts Pet Center "really high markup" and a Petland "typical chain".

I am not from Ashland, but a close WV neighbor, in Huntington. I go to Berts a lot, have you talked to the owner that knows about fish?

Well if your ever looking for saltwater stuff there is a great little shop in paducah. But unfortunately around here there aren't many places that sell fish cept walmart and petsmart. Boo. So I am stuck paying more for shipping than for the fish.
