diy filtration for a 29 gal planted tank

hey everyone, sorry ive been inactive. i just got married and have been juggling my kids, school, and work. i had a question and i hope this is the right forum for this question. i have a 29 gal planted tank (not heavily planted) and need more filtration than i have. i have seen some videos and read some articles about making my own filter out of bottles and some other various materials. my idea was to use two 32 oz bottles with ceramic bio and a sponge on the mouth of the bottle. could any of you tell me if this will be enough filtration for my tank? every little bit of advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks everyone and have a wonderful day

I would skip the ceramic/noodles and just stick a filter sponge on the inlet of a powerhead. Works very well - see link in my signature.
