Fuze's 6G Custom Acrylic "ADA Killer"

Starting my third tank (already??). This time for my personal bedroom/studio.

The tank will be constructed out of 1/4 acrylic, with all parts laser cut.

Dimensions: 16x12x7
Substrate: ADA Amazonia
Filter: Zoomed 501 Canister
Light: 12" Finnex Fugeray
Plants: Microsword, Peacock Moss, stems?
Fauna: 30+ Chili Rasbora, Pygmy cories, PRF shrimp.

I have some left over stones from my 55g tank, which I plan to use to scape. I plant for this tank to be low light with injected CO2.

Here is the tank, freshly cut and aligned, ready for gluing!

Experimenting with potential scapes:

I am not a huge fan or Iwagumi style, I can certainly appreciate the art, but I want this tank to be more or less no maintenance..

Clearly some of these are Iwagumi style, but I hope to incorporate some more driftwood to let the hardscape do most of the work in terms of visual stimulation.

To Be Continued..

This was the chosen scape, filled in with sand for cories to play in.

Looking good! I'm interested in what can be done with low light and CO2.

I am not sure what type of sand that is, I have only used play sand before, and these granules are much larger. They sold them by "cups" at a LFS. I have been searching for a more natural colored sand, and this seemed to fit quite nicely.

Thanks ETK, me too. I am curious if HC will struggle or not, never used HC before to be honest, but will give it a shot. Other options are microsword and DHG.

Either Flame or peacock moss will be placed on the twig to get the effect of a bonsai tree. I am leaning towards flame because I have heard that it can grow above the water, which will be interesting..

To Be Continued..(working on something nifty at the moment)

Please be a second tank with a waterfall into the first one!

Love this setup! Was the acrylic expensive to get cut?

LOL, now that is a thought!

I did not pay anything to cut this stuff, I am an architecture student so we have access to a 24x36 laser cutter on a daily basis. I drew up the file in about 5 minutes (pondering dimensions included) and it took another 5 or so for the machine to do its work!

I plan to make MORE!! Including my very own 10g LONG (30-32")

But I digress:

TAKE THIS ADA!!

(that plant isn't staying there, just shuffling stuff around for the moment)

note: I really have nothing against ADA, I just can not afford it! And I enjoy DIY.

Let's break down this faux ADA setup:

Acrylic sheet- $30
-Tank
-Light fixture

Finnex 12" Fugeray- $30
Zoomed 501- $35

Doing ok so far!

Thanks for the comments, I am thinking of some good plants to grow out of the tank. It is pretty low, so I would like to be able to appreciate it from the top as well.

To Do List:
Find some plants to grow emersed
Get fast growing plants to help cycle/ deal with leeching ammonia from New Amazonia.
Obtain CO2 splitter so I can set up pressurized for this tank as well.
Clean up wiring/tubes! (Maybe a base?)

CPD: I think I got it on ebay awhile ago.

Will update soon..Hopefully with plants!

As always, comments/critique are appreciated.
