Finnex Ray II or Fugeray LED for 55 Gallon

Hey guys,

Deciding between these two for a standard 55 gallon. I currently have some anubias, amazon swords and java fern. Looking to have enough light to grow some carpeting plants.

I recently got the ray2 for my 55 and have had a very positive experience. My plants went from about mid level in my 55 to reaching the surface --no co2! I just got some hc tonight to try for a carpet, but was told the ray2 was adequate to grow it out. Hope that helps

Definitely a Ray 2, but you'll most likely end up needing CO2. If you know for sure you don't want to go down the CO2 path, I'd stick with the Fuge Ray.

+1, or you could go ray2 and balance light with floaters

Thanks for the input. Think I'm going to go with the fugeray since I'm not planning to put any CO2 for now.
