Amano Shrimp Breeding Second Attempt (With New Videos)

Amano Shrimp Breeding Second Attempt

Anybody who didn’t view my last attempt, it’s here....

http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...1990&highlight=

This is my new setup:

All my Amano zoe’s parents are home bred from my first attempt, linked above

I have larger breeding tank where the Amano are now releasing the zoe’s, (this tank was my old growing tank from last attempt)

Today, things are starting to come together and I now have thousands of zoe’s, as shown in my video.

I have just moved them accross to my green soup mix...and I have new larger growing tank with secret recipe!, picture here.

Fingers crossed things go okay and I will post updates as we go along..

I think that's because of the light beam.

Yes it’s an led light. it takes a few minutes for them to line up and it’s quite a sight.

They have all been siphoned off into my salty mix, although there are still some berried females in the breeding tank, hope we get another chance to make a video again.

We might sell some, especially if we do well.. even a 10% survival rate would return 300+ shrimp..... so we are hoping for a good result, especially as this is our second attempt..

Fingers crossed we can learn from our lessons repeat greater success from last time.

I would definitely encourage people to buy CB as opposed to WC. Great job!

This time around I have decided not to feed them anything extra at all... daft as it may seem... a hunch tells me to go ‘low tech’ and rely just on my green mix..... Other web advice suggests all sorts of supplements should be given... If I am wrong then so be it and will learn from my mistakes...

In the wild its just them (amano zoe's), marshes, the sea. and then fresh water again....... so why should we over feed them? Any suggestions?... anybody?

One thought is the micro organisms they feed off of.

They're in the water column.

But if you have those, you should be set.

I hope they are. What will be your lighting regiment for this soup tank?
