Well, over the last week I have noticed that 3 of my Amano Shrimp are now carrying eggs. I have about 13 total Amano shrimp and when I got them originally none were carrying eggs. Needless to say I am fairly excited having Amanos reproducing. I have seperated the 3 shrimp to a 5 gallon barebottom tank and added some salt to it. Has anyone here sucessfully hatched/raised Amano shrimp that can offer me some tips? I've searched the web, but the info I've found is kinda sparse.

Thanks,

Jeremiah

I know adding a bit of iodine to the tank may help shrimp, but since they're reproducing, I think you've probably already got a handle on things.

I have been trying to decide between Amano and Red Cherry shrimp for control of hair algae. Have heard that the Amano love hair algae and they are less expensive.

Holy cow! That's an incredible photo!

Thanks, for the link Carla, it was quite informative.

I just wish my red cherries would do the same as my others. Oh well... :?

Thanks for all the info, everyone.
