Photos of my new fish!

Welp, I went to the LFS today and saw these guys. They've been great so far. I bought 4 in total but taking good pictures of these guys with a cell phone is proving difficult lol.

Blue Paradise. Do not have smaller tetras (neons, glow lights, etc.) They will eat the eyes out of them. I got one as a gift and it killed three glow lights.

I have a few red eye tetra and one serpae tetra. I haven't noticed any bickering between them. They're awesome fish to watch because they're so curious.

Beautiful fish and tank!
I don't know much about these fish, but I particularly like the white one that looks like it's wearing blush. Such a cute face!
Have they had their morning coffee yet?

You have a young one. It will color up nicely in a couple of months. They can be somewhat aggressive towards other fish. You'll have to be careful with other top and mid level fish you put in the tank. Mine has a dis-like for my tiger barbs but gets along fine with my GBR.

Here's mine:

Thank you! You must be talking about the Bolivian Ram, he's a pretty neat dude indeed. I have two of em but the other male is quite a pansy to put it bluntly.

Your fish is very pretty! I hope mine color up that well.

Yea the only other mid to top fish i have are the tetra I listed above and a single bloodfin and female guppy that i forgot to mention. Haven't seen them get harassed at all yet. The red eye tetra do more bickering between themselves than any of the other critters in the tank.

Also does anyone know if Excel is safe for these fish?

Excel is safe, even with a 2x overdose. I use it in my tank daily.

PS: Did you say you bought 4 paradise fish or 4 different fish in total? Typically they are very aggressive with each other and it's recommended to keep only 1 male per 2 foot of surface area.

Yea, 4 paradise fish. So far so good though. Sure there are chases here and there but no fins have been nipped, no locking jaws or anything lol. Theres lots of cover too. Sometimes all four of them will come up to the front glass when I'm next to it without any aggression at all. It's pretty awesome!

Does anyone know how to sex them?

How big is your tank? Make sure to have a backup plan in case things get nasty.

Females are generally less colorful and have shorter caudal fins, they are rarely available. Keep us updated!

All is still well in my tank! I love these fish. They add so much life to the tank! All four of them love coming to the front glass when I'm up next to it.
