You can use suction cup, but you need get a good one

Yeah, I'd like to know how sturdy it is with plants in it. I was considering doing this with a thicker/less textured water bottle or container (without the ripples) and was considering using a suction cup... but i like your paper clip idea! (I assume that's what those are)

It works for me. I can grow fissiden, moss , riccia,belem(mini hair grass)..., not only plant
You can use it as a breeder box

Anyone have alternatives to suction cups and metal clips?

What kind of plastic clips are there?

I've also thought of having a hanging garden (from a suspension bar above tank and those small mesh pots touching water surface.
