Evan @ Fishtown USA in Ramsey has a small bunch of my Singapore Moss. I just gave him some. IIRC, he's got a tank full of Willow Moss he's growing out, too.

haha. I'm getting back in the hobby after a looong hiatus. So, I had to bump this thread. Thanks for the heads up on where to get some local HC. I guess I'll start at Fishtown USA, havo any Len't been tFS's in years. Mosses are no prob though. I've had many types and I think some even survived in my unkempt tank all this time. (almost the only things that survived) The weeping and willow moss i had didn't make it but at least some others have. Not sure of it's pheonix, taiwan or xmas though, it's just a big mass of randomness.
Anyway, Thanks again. |

Gotta keep it going! I was in Fishtown up in Ramsey over the weekend.....they have a pretty good variety of everything, at really good prices! I bought a nice chunk of Riccia for 2 bucks, among other things.

Hey Shloken. I live in central jersey and wondering is it worth the journey. I am a newb so i need people who not only have a bunch of stuff but can guide me and really help me. I have a super low tech set up and I really want to make the fake tree look with some awesome driftwood i bought but its a far drive...

it's about a half hour drive for me as well, and I would have to say it is worth it. Livestock-wise, he has a decent selection. I was surprised to see he had endlers. Plant-wise, he had the best selection I have seen in NJ, and I have visited every store within an hour drive from my house. And the prices were damn good, even compared to some of the prices I have seen online, which makes it better because you don't have to pay shipping. After a nice conversation with Evan (pretty sure he is the owner), turns out he found a couple of good plant suppliers and gets pretty large shipments in from time to time. He recently had a huge sale (which I just missed, dang it), where everything in a particular tank (big tank, probably 200 gallons) was $1.50! I don't know what all the plants were, but I know it included wisteria, water sprite, cabomba, crypts.....a bunch of stuff, including Marimo Balls!! A buck fifty for golf-size Marimo balls!!! I bought the last one he had. There's supposed to be a big shipment coming in this week, so another sale is coming I believe. I will definitely be calling up towards the end of the week to find out.

Whoa Whoa Whoa......hold up! The thread almost died! Gotta keep it going....hahaha. Moss is getting harder and harder to come by lately. I have been ordering from sites like this one when I find a pretty good price with shipping. My collection is starting to grow nicely. Hopefully I'll have enough to start pawning off soon. My collection includes Java, Subwasser (although it has others mixed in unfortunately), Pelia, Willow, Riccia. I should be receiving my Taiwan and Flame mosses either today or tomorrow.
KEEP......THE THREAD........ALIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I've seen it there too. Just be careful though.....they are TINY portions. And I opened a few up, and they were in rough shape! I was real disppointed.
