Oops sorry, I guess I missed those. Why will this make it hard to install the fan? If you drill a hole on each end ot install the fan, will this not be out of the way?

Ahh, icic. I actually wanted to cut out a section large enough to fit the fan in the canopy. BTW, how did you wire the fan? Did you need a computer power supply unit?

No not at all. I simply spliced the fan wires into the wire powering my lighting. It is really handy, since the fan now goes on and off with my lights which is on a timer.

It is worthwhile to note:

I think this goes without saying, and I am not questioning your intellect or common sense but make sure you hook the fan up to the 115V power cord coming out of your timer and going into the ballast and not to the power wires running out of the ballast and into the lights. I would hate for you to fry your fan and start a small fire.

Nice, is that a 75g? What temp. bulbs do you have? I was going to buy the 4x55, but I figured out it will cost me more because I would have to make a hood. But I found a kit that you just snatch on to the frame of the aquarium, it comes built-in with 3 fans and produces 260watts! By the way, do you have a piece of glass between the water and the lights?

Raul: It's a 100 gallon tank. I've seen what you're talking about, but none of those setups fit my tank. As for having a piece of glass between the water and the lights, I don't have anything yet. However, I am planning on putting a piece of acrylic there in the near future.

Fender: Thanks again. BTW, would you be able to tell me just how to go about splicing wires?
