Flying Fox or SAE?
I know there is a thread here very descriptive about which is which between flying fox and SAE's and the chinese SAE, etc. Just want to confirm, this is a Flying Fox, right?

That is indeed the flying fox, Epalzeorhynchos kalopterus. The alternating black-gold-black bands are the easiest indicator.

I just posted a picture of my SAE in this link if you want to see what one looks like. They have barbels and they hav hexigon shaped scales with black highlights.

hmmmmm I thought the true SAE had the stripe running all the way through to the tip of the tail - just like the picture. which would mean it is not a flying fox?

It is a good looking Flying Fox. They are terrific fish, SAE have much more muted coloration

That's a flying fox. SAE's don't have white on the edge of their fins. Also, SAE's don't have that dark broad stripe under their dorsal fin.
