best filter for a 5.5 planted tank


what will be the best?


i currently have a standerd lighting. i believe its around 8w or so.

i will be using this for my office, so not a major project but something nice to look at.

any suggestions, thanks in advance

Well, I always over filter non-planted, and a little charcoal will make the water clearer...
So I'd go with a Aqua Clear 20, or, if the bioload is small, something like a Red Sea Nano filter should do it.

If the footprint needs to be smaller, maybe a internal filter - Hydor, Eheim and Tetra have few of them.

I like my little duetto filter on my 5 hex, i think drsfostersmith carries or maybe bigals.

For a 5.5 gallon I would go with an AquaClear 20.
