Just noticed in my low grade crs, there is one super red crystal. Looks like need to wait for 1-2 months to get it to breed... Btw, selective breed the lower grades in your tank! Higher chances of getting more c grades that way.

I'll put a serious answer to your question anyway. Now that they are berried, absolutely separate this C strain and build a colony from them and the offspring. Cull the ones that don't make the cut, and it will help you progress that much faster toward your goal sticking with the arrangement of modifiers you want. This is the absolute simplest form of selection, so you should progress pretty fast. Thankfully, it is very easy to tell phenotype on these "Scarlets."

Just to make sure, cull any shrimps that has higher grade than C right?
Because I'm pretty sure some S/SS will come out from these two batches. There are about 50 S-SS and 2 of the C grades lol.

I just spotted a hydra in a tank of mine, too.
Can't you starve them out?

Yeah me too 2 adults last time. But maybe it's my fault because I over dose the tank because of the lack of measurement tools for the fenbendazole. Hopefully I don't overdose this time.

I don't know the exact ingredients to panacur, but if you choose a similar SafeGuard, I can help you dose an appropriate amount.

Came home tonight and saw a dead shrimp
One casualty total. Then I did 5% (1g gallon water change) with 1ml seachem prime added to new water. Good news is I don't see anymore hydra. I guess I'm done dosing, scared now so many berried shrimps in there. ![]() Tank water before water change. Shake n bake and wait for 5 mins.

My heart stopped for a sec when I read " One Casualty."
I can't believe one death of a shrimp can actually affect ammonia.

I don't believe you can starve them out because if memory serves well, they will just return into cyst form and re-emerge when parameters are in their favor & they are considered biologically immortal (no post-mitotic cells and apparently don't age).

What you guys think on the ammonia chart?
I'm colorblind so would you say .25ppm or .50ppm? Quote:
When hydra and planaria dies from medicine, it can make a small ammonia spike in the tank plus I only have an HOB filter.
