Removing snails

I bought some Riccia from a fellow hobbyist, but when I recieved it I was suprised to see some small snails. Not exactly sure what type but anyways I don't think I want them.

Will soaking the plants in tap water kill the snails without destroying the Riccia? Also is Riccia supposed to be in a lot of small pieces? For some reason it is, but it might just be trimmed bits. Any input appreciated.

Thanks

Riccia is very hardy. Did you mean to dip it in a bleach solution or just plain tap water? Tap water wont kill snails or their eggs. The trimmed bits should be fine once they adjusts and the conditions are right.
