Hi! I'm Leah and I live in Honolulu. I have a low-tech 55 gallon, with lots of java fern, java moss, and anubias. And I'm a HAS member (though I missed the last meeting or two).
I also have 4 clown loaches who are slowly outgrowing my tank. If you or someone you know might want to adopt these loaches, and you have a tank large enough for them, then please keep me in mind! My largest loach is over 5 inches, the rest are about 3 inches. These guys can live over 30 years, so I'm really looking for someone who wants to commit themselves to caring for them as long-term pets. They are very tame, and will make wonderful pets for the right owner. You can read about their care requirements at http://www.loaches.com/species-index...a-macracanthus. Just send me a private message on this site if you'd like to know more.

Aloha,

My name is Allan and I live in Aiea. Not an HAS member yet, but hopefully one day. If HAS is still looking for a webmaster I used to dabble in web design and can maybe put some pages together if given member photos and any info that needs to be posted, maybe updated links, a list of participating vendors that honor the membership.

Anyways... I have a 40gallon and 20gallon non-planted tanks with various fish, a 20gallon low that I am making into a low tech planted and a 55 gallon which I am not sure what direction to go in with yet.

I'm Alex. I just joined PT. I live in Ewa Beach. I just started a 10 gal. aquarium and I can't get enough of these planted aquariums! I want to put dwarf puffers in the tank but i'm waiting it to cycle. do any of you have an opinion about SeaChem's Stability? I'm thinking about trying it.
Thanks!

Hey, does anyone on Oahu know if anywhere sells that Stability stuff from SeaChem, i'd rather buy it in person than online. Also, would you guys recommend any specific aquarium shops that dwarf hairgrass?

Aquascapes in the Aiea Town Square might have dwarf hairgrass. Prolly the best fish/plant shop on Oahu I have ever visited.

I'm Will, I live in Honolulu, and am relatively new to the planted hobby, although I've always been interested in aquaria. I'm planning to go to my first Aquarium Society meeting this Friday. I'm an entomologist by trade - interested in aquatic arthropods in aquaria/terraria/paludaria, as well as interesting fish.

Hi I'm Brandon from Aiea. I was a HAS member 20 years ago when the meetings were held in Manoa. I just recently got back into the hobby but this time I think its more about the Aquascaping than the actual fish. It would be nice to attend a meeting again. Do they still hold fish auctions at the end of every meeting?

still holding the auctions after every meeting.
however the club has troubles with start time as it states meetings start at 7pm but most people don't arrive till after that. So the meetings are pushed back to around 7:30 pm and for the old people this is a problem because they tend to have to go home early so the miss out on the auction and what not.
