Serial Fish Killer
Something keeps killing my tetras; Neon and glowlights. The disease is only affecting "new" fish. Symptoms includes sunken stomach (concave), red around gills in advanced stages, paralysis, and death. They have been known to be perfect in the morning, and dead by the time I get home from work--Fast acting killer.
My guess is neon tetra disease. Whatever is killing them is doing it fast, and it seems to target mostly the tetras. I have not lost any other fish recently, I just can't seem to keep my canary fish alive Help, I remove infected fish as soon as I see them and Ammonia, Nitrates, Nitrite are all 0, Temp is 76

could be a very aggressive tetra in the the bunch. Tetras have teeth so if one gets angry they can do some damage. I have two Blue Tetras and one of them is very aggressive I put them in with 5 inch Moustached Danios and Giant Danios. The Danios have lots of scars. I put them in there because they killed one glass catfish, two Bloodfin Tetras.

0 Nitrate? Odd. You should have something in there.
Red around the gills sounds like ammonia burning. However, you have other fish living... Hmm. I don't think it's NTD, but if it is, you should just cull the entire lot of remaining neons. If you're getting your stock from the same source, try a new one. |

I think I narrowed it down to velvet. The killer parasite. I spotted some rust on the casualties. I've added salt to the aquarium and have kept lights off more.
