Any interest in a local swap meet?

I like wine... I'll buy mucho wine and stuff. This seems too complicated, we shouldn't do it there if you are going to be on the hook for the tab though. Why not at some other joint? I'm in Hawaii for the week, anybody need any Hawaiian type stuff?

I agree that it should be at anouther location that doenst require you to be held responsible for the dough. If you want I can host the flier on my website for our dj company if wanted.

Well I am not sure if that I will for sure be on the hook, it just seemed that they were worried that this event would be a lot of work for them and have little return. Perfectly understandable, it is a new business and I think getting people in the door is a good thing, but that is my thoughts and not my business. I believe that everyone involved would not make any mess and would clean up after themselves if they did, so if a nominal amount of food and bev is the key to making this happen then I am willing to do it. I think after the first meeting they will be ok with others, they are open for business during those hours anyway. I will dig deeper, BUT if anyone has a place that will host us free with no strings, please let me know!

Well today i took break at the st louis park rec center and asked the janitor what it costs to rent the banquet room and he said like 35 an hour. Maybe some other rec center might have lower rates?

why not just figure out how many ppl are coming for sure..

and then decide on the venue ???

IMHO venue can be very flexible if we know how many ppl are coming
for sure....

OK with nicer weather, I think we can do this outside at a park that has a picnic pavilion. Combine the day with some picnic action.

I know of a great park by my house, but it is in Prior Lake, that might be a bit distant. Does any one know of a good park in Richfield, close to WOF? Or another good LFS?

Hi!

I just moved to southwest Mn this summer from the Boston area. Did this event ever happen? Is anyone interested? If so, how about a function room at a smaller hotel? Of course I'm in the boonies but it costs very little (about $35) to rent a fuction room at a smaller hotel. I'm thinking more like Americ Inn, Econo-Lodge type of hotel/motel. I would absolutely do everything I could to make this event if it occured on a weekend. I'm going to be at the AmericInn in Northfield tonight for a conference and I can see if they do that type of thing.

We never made it off the ground, I lost a lot of steam when the event place pulled the plug for me. I am still interested in doing one, however I don't expect to have much time to put it together.
