There is still some pressure in the tubing.. because there's nothing stopping it from going through the diffuser you will see it continue until the pressure in the tubing drops low enough that it can't get pushed through any more. You may also notice it takes a while once your system is turned on before bubbles start to come out of your diffuser. Those "lag times" are why a lot of people turn on their CO2 a little while before their lights come on, and turn it off before the lights go out.

Okay now that's probably abnormal. Does your solenoid "click" when it turns on? Try it.

There may be a piece of debris in the solenoid that's preventing it from fully seating closed. You may want to blow some compressed air through it, or if you're brave you can disassemble it and clean/reseat the o-rings.

Quick solenoid gunk fix:

Solenoid off
Remove bubble counter/tubing after needle valve
Needle valve full open
Pressure, if adjustable, to 50 psi or so
Plug/unplug solenoid quickly, several times
Return to defaults and test
