PNW Walmarts?

I keep reading posts of people buying fish and plants (esp. aponogeton bulbs) at Walmart. I don't live real close to a Walmart so I think I've only been in a couple in Oregon but I don't remember any pet sections. Do Walmarts in the Pacific Northwest carry fish?

All of the supercenters in Western PA have fish

some stores don't even if the general area w-marts have fish. It varies around Houston.

Hi Rex:

Thanks for the info. I live in Portland but I think the only times I've stopped at Walmart stores was in eastern Oregon while traveling. Are they worth checking out for fish/plants?

If you dont have a LFS and you have no other choice... goto Walmart or K-mart or Woolworths...

You can also check out www.aquabid.com.....I have had GREAT success bidding on some Endler's there and they arrived in PERFECT shape...Aquabid, if you are not familiar is kinda like ebay. I really had never done that before but I really was pleased. If you know what you are looking for you can also see if anyone would be willing to trade with you as well or ship you some cuttings.

I have a very nice LFS I shop at most of the time. I just see SO many references to Walmart on the net that I getting curious. I tend to stay away from "big box" stores if I can (just don't care for the atmosphere) so it was easier to ask here then drive out of my way to a Walmart to make sure I wasn't missing something really good!

The little apono bulbs you can get at some WMs are awesome!!! Out of 5 bulbs I grew in very short time 4 beautiful plants, 3 of them growing tall and looking like brown/bronze balansaes, and one grows more compact. I wouldn't buy fish there, but you can't beat the value of those little ugly bulbs.

Yeah, those bulbs are what were catching my interest. I may have to pick some up, sounds as if you can't really lose with them.
