Eclipse 6 intake too low?

I'm finally getting my Eclipse 6 gallon system started.

I put in 7.2lbs of Red Sea Flora Base, added some plants, and almost put water to the top. I am getting ready to start it up but I think the intake is too close to the substrate. Any Eclipse 6 owners cut their intake tube? maybe I should just run it as is? It's really close to the gravel but not IN the gravel

I'll post pics up soon. Just worried if it's too "low"

How far above the substrate is the intake tube?

I had to cut my intake tube since the substrate was so high. It won't hurt anything. I cut it in small increments to make sure I had it at the depth I wanted. Just remember if you need to lower it later on your S.O.L..

Regards,
Alex

Cut off 1/2 an inch and now the intake is 1 inch above the substrate.

I am not sure if that is enough yet.

Once I figure out how to upgrade my gallery2 site, I can post pics.

Here is where we are at though:

how about this?

If this doesn't work, there will be some modules I'll need to load when I get back to a faster connection to update gallery2

It's gallery2's security settings. I think I better get my own host place

I can see your pics.

As for the hight raise it up a bit more. You'll be fine.

So 1 inch above the substrate is too low still?

If so, take off another 1/2 inch? I can Dremel it

I have it running at work for filtration, lighting, and temperature regulation for the weekend

It didn't look like an inch by the pics, but ok. If so leave it. It looked more like 3/4" to me. Sorry if I didn't read.

Your in the ball park and like stated if you feel it's toolow later take off another 1/4". Just take it a step at a time.
