Yes. It worked far better than API leaf zone, flourish comp, flourish trace etc. However my scale will only display EEE as of a few hours ago
. So I need to find a volume measurment for each or for the EI method. I first tried straight dry ferts every time using the EI method but it was a real PITA! I suppose I could do the math for EI mixing but I'm sure it's out there somewhere lol. I didn't notice much difference between the two PPS vs EI. I tried PPS simply because I ran across the same page you posted and it seemed a lot less tedious than measuirung powders each day.

The only difference between PPS Pro and EI is the amount of each chemical you dose. PPS pro supposedly limits the dosages to just what the plants use, so there is no build up of any of the chemicals in the water. But, that isn't likely to be true, since you would have to adjust the dosages proportional to how heavily the tank is planted and how much light and CO2 you use. If you want to dose the EI method, liquid style, just get a 16 ounce dosing bottle - http://greenleafaquariums.com/aquari...nser-16oz.html Then, add 16 times each dosage of the NPK chemicals to the bottle. Use another bottle and add 16 times the trace elements mix to that bottle. Fill the bottles with water, and shake them to dissolve the chemicals. Now you can dost one ounce each time and have the right dosages every time, without having to measure the powders each time. The bottles will contain 16 doses, so the will last about 5 weeks before you have to fill them again.

Is there a shelf life on this stuff once in solution? I have 8 tanks - 3 of them CO2'ed... Currently I'm using Excel on the non CO2 and the dry ferts above on the CO2 tanks. I'd love to be able to just do the same for all 8. Any issues dosing these dry ferts in solution for a non-CO2 injected tank? I cant imagine there being one... just asking. So excited to squeeze in an ounce at a time... so much neater. -Ken |

Still balancing the light / CO2 / Ferts thing right now. Getting better. No monster algae issues - except the crapola hanging off of my now-trashed Java Ferns. Hate those things anyway. All else is good. The Plecos, Amanos and Otos are doing a good job, as well as managing the light better. -Ken |
