Blue and White?

What is the difference in the regular CF bulbs, and the Blue and White ones. I am currently using the blue and white one, because it's what came with my fixture. Is there a difference, and does it matter?

The blue and white bulbs are called 50/50 bulbs. One is a 10000 Kelvin bulb the other is an Actinic bulb. Usually they are used in saltwater aquariums.

Many people don't recommend the use of those bulbs in a planted aquarium. Typically a 6700K bulb is recommended, although the 9325K bulbs look VERY nice too

Thank you, that's what I thought. I have been meaning to replace it... I can replace the bulb with a normal one right... it does not matter on the fixture does it?

It sucks, because it came with my fixture... but it will be good to have as a backup in case one blows. Thank you.

There should be no problems with replacing it with a normal bulb. I'm not sure what the pin layout is on your unit though. That will make a difference. There are typically two different layouts.

One is all four pins in a row like ....
The other is two up and two down like ::
