Autodosing using a Peristaltic pump

I've been reading about how to set this up. I would love to set this up so I don't have to dose excel every day. I do have a few questions.

How can you plumb this inline? I see people t-taping into the outflow, but wouldn't there be negative pressure pulling the excel into the flow? How is this avoided?

Are there any nice made pumps that I can purchase? Something like the one made by GHL but only one pump or two and does not cost $600?

I'm new to this idea, so I'm probably missing the obvious. thanks

I've been doing some looking around and found this:

How are people dosing this into their tanks without clipping the tubing on the rim?
