Inline atomizer or Ista Max Mix

Which would you choose? I know I could build a rex griggs or a ceges, but with 4 kids under 4 I just don't have the time to get all the bits together and assemble.

Not sure if the mist from the atomizer will annoy me, but also not sure that the sound from the ista won't bug me. Not to mention that space under my stand is at a premium with it being a 30" long tank and I already have a canister and a 5 lb CO2 tank and other related stuff under there.

"Getting the bits together" is really not a big issue. Spend 20 minutes at Home Depot, another 20 minutes putting it together, and you're done. I think I have some 3/4" to 5/8" fittings, but you can get your own if you'd like. Check Grainger.com. 2" pipe, caps, and a couple fittings is not a big deal, and costs all of $30-40. If you're really not into DIY, the ISTA will work.

Atomizers are far too termperamental for my taste.

fwiw, it's not just "20 minutes at home depot". I had to go to home depot, then lowes, then orchard supply, then ace hardware to finally find the right bushings and fittings. Plus, mine still leaks (haven't had time to go figure out why yet) :-(

Yeah, the 5/8" fittings can be a pain - most big box hardware stores don't carry them. But the basic PVC parts, other than those two fittings, can be found at any store. The 2' tube and the bushings are cheap and easy. it's just the 5/8" inch stuff that's the problem. And I just pointed out that Grainger and I both have them.

Are you meaning for a Rex Griggs type?

Yes. For my designs, I used elbows rather than caps, but the basic design is a Grigg.

Hmmmm.... I do drive by grainger every day.... Of course the Ista would cost half as much too... Must thunk more....
