Flourish Excel dosage

My co2 regulator for my paintball canister went out last night. Until I can get I replacement, I'm looking at dosing Excel for my 7g nano. Is it safe to use daily, or every other day, with cherry shrimp & amano shrimp? Should I reduce the recommended dosage? Other tank inhabitant include pygmy rasboras, danio erythomicrons, and khuli loaches.

It will be fine to use with your livestock, as long as the recommended dosage is followed, with one modification.

After you complete your water change, there is no need to double up on the dosage as indicated by the instructions.

Just thought of something else.. is Excel safe to use along side ADA dosing of Green Brightly & Brightly K?

Excel is oganic carbon and that what it contains. If there is no other source of Carbon in Green Brightly & Brightly K you can use them together.

I doubled my Excel dose for 5 days and all my fish were dead. My cherry shrimp was unharmed.

Sorry you lost your fish, but those cherries really are tanks, aren't they? I lost some of my juvie cherries during this co2 mishap. The amanos are doing just fine through it all. They might be even tougher, or maybe it's just because the cherries are so young.

I was wondering about the Excel because the label states that it benefits tanks that also use co2 injection, and that it "has iron reducing properties." So I wasn't sure if it was something that might also be in the ADA products. Excel only states that it contains "polycycloglutaracetal" as a "bioavailable organic carbon" and the ADA products do not list specific ingredients.

I'm assuming you're right, but am hoping to hear from anyone who might have used both together to be sure. I'd hate to cause any more deaths.

i dose 1 ml every couple days while running co2. and no negative side effects that have noticed
