Aquatraders 3w leds
So once again, checked out aquatraders / odysea and found them carrying new led lighting.
Has anyone dealt with them, looking at the 36" plant evo using 24 3watt leds. Reviews look promising and the fixture itself looks fine. And since it doesn't have fans chances are there is an option to install even stronger drivers. Has anyone had dealings with them. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

I have this one : http://www.aquatraders.com/BeamsWork...36-p/56283.htm
since january 5th 2013. My tank is 36" X 18" X 24" high. At first I was worried, I was not sure i would get even low light with this fixture. But my plants are thriving, I am really happy with it. Michel.

I did some reading on a reef site and they said the LEDs had more of a spot like effect but their corals were doing fine.... Nothing was stated about the life span of the LEDs though

I just bought this fixture: http://www.aquatraders.com/LED-Brigh...ed-p/56270.htm
It is a 9x1 watt LED for my little rimless 12 inch cube. The tank isn't set up yet, but just looking at it, it looks significantly brighter than my 2 bulb T5NO on my 25 gallon tank. Makes me glad I didn't get the 6x3 watt fixture. I am sure that would have been major overkill. |

Well I might be the Ginny pig unless I find something else.... May do 2 of the 3w evos on a 40b...unless you guys think 1 would be plenty...it'll be a hightech tank with some nice plant species

That shouldn't be to noticeable the farther from the substrate the light is...
They probably used like 30° optics on them Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

I have the 18" with 10 3w LED's. It has 3 blue and 7 white LED's. I am still scaping the tank and dont have water in it yet, but i think its too blue. Wish they had the light you're talking about in a 20" size.
Anyway, the light itself seems well made. I have one of mistergreen's DIY PAR meters on the way, so I will be able to give an idea what kind of out put these really have. Wont be exactly the same as the one you're considering, but should be a good reference point anyway. |

That reminds me!! Guy on youtube tested that light you have with a par meter, directly under the light open air at 18" was hitting around 73 par if i recall correctly...
Here is the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Y8Z...e_gdata_player There is a thread on monster fish keepers on the 1w led models, the output is impressive Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
