Lighting for ADA Mini M

Ok I really do not want to spend $199 on the AquaSky for my Mini M, so where do I get alternative lighting? The only bulbs I can find are 20" T8s at shortest! Anyone else have this problem?

Aqua sky is best... anything else will cost a lot in bulbs anyhow

the aquasky is very nice, but I agree, super expensive.

You could go with a fugeray or a ray2 from finnex.

If you're interested in DIY you could buy a heat sink, dimmable 0-10v nano driver w/built in potentiometer, 6x 3 watt Cree cool white, and other parts for $100. It would be way overkill, but you could dim it down. Look on LED group buy.

Yes I was referring to the finnex LEDs. The aquasky is not the only light that won't require bulbs being replaced. There's a lot of nice led fixtures out now. I recommend the finnex line because it is cheap and reliable.

The aquasky legs are an eyesore IMO. The light should be hung if possible.

Ehh I dont really notice them myself and I have no experience with the finnex. I look at logos and the fact its clear vs. colored.

Finnex LEDs would be a great substitution. They have a 16" 7000K Ray II that would overhang about an inch on either side of the tank.
