To anubias or not to anubias...

This is my 5, and while it's ok, it still needs some work. I originally had java fern on the driftwood, but it seems it doesn't like to grow anywhere except wedged between rocks. Go figure. I'm still wanting to have plants growing on the wood along with the moss that's already there. Think anubias would be a good fit? Any other options or thoughts?

since you're staring at that side of the tank a lot, I might suggest just removing the piece of driftwood there entirely and maybe moving it to cover up the filter intake. After that, I think some nice moss or anubias tied to rocks would look pretty cool in the open space.

I think some anubias wood look good.

C. Wendii 'red' (which is mostly green)
C. Lucens
java fern

Right side:
C. Green Gecko (which is red)
C. Lucens (just barely starting to grow in)
java fern (too short to see)

Alright, Iv'e been busy, but I finally got around to moving the wood a bit. Not entirely sure if I'm sold on it yet, but the critters seem to like it, so it will probably grow on me. I didn't have a lot of places to put the piece I moved, since the rocks are in fairly permanent locations (layered dirt substrate in places). I left a piece of wood on the left side because I like watching the more timid critters that like to hide. Still trying to find the anubias.
