Eheim Filter + Lily Pipe Set

Hi,

This may be a simple question, but I am looking to buy the Magic Lily Pipe Set 16mm by Aquatic Magic on no ebay links allowed The canister filter I have purchased is the Eheim 600 (2217). The suction side of the hose is 16/22 and the discharge side is 12/16mm.

BOTH the inflow and outflow lily pipes are 16mm. This filter is still shipping so I am not sure if the sure if the connections on the filter are the 12mm and 22mm sides of the tubing and the 16mm sides are available sides that I can connect the lily pipes to.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Fit the smaller tube into the larger one. It's what I've done on a nearly identical setup. No leaks for 3+ months.

The filter input is 16/22 mm, meaning the inner diameter is 16 mm and the outer diameter is 22 mm. The wall thickness is thus 3 mm on each side.

The filter return is 12/16 mm, meaning the inner diameter is 12 mm and the outer diameter is 16 mm.

For the filter input, you can use a 16 mm lily pipe. For the filter return, you will want a 12 mm (or a 13 mm) lily pipe.

Darkblade thanks for the clarification. What is confusing is that the majority of these inflow/outflow are sold with the same thickness...seems odd.

Thanks again

This is because for some filters, such as the Eheim 2213, the filter intake and return are both 12/16 mm (ID/OD), so a 12 or 13 mm lily pipe set would be suitable.

The problem arises when the intake and return pipes are sized differently, as in your case.
