Quick Q: Inline heater and plumbing...

My Can Filters are pretty tall (Eheim 2217's, 2215's, etc...) and by the time I add a bit of tubing, the inline heater (mounted vertically) and the taps... I'm up against the top of my stand.

What is best practice for mounting additional stuff inline - I'm adding a Reactor soon, and there is no way I can just stack stuff up.

Can I come off my canister - make a loop and run into my heater and then loop, run into my reactor, then run into the tank? This will give me the ability to mount the inline devices side by side on the inside of my stand, and not have to build a 9 foot tall stand.

How are you guys who are running several inline devices mounting these?

I hang my Hydor ETH in-line heaters about 3" to 6" down from the rear rim of the aquarium behind the aquarium.

Yeah it's kind of tough to run an entire inline system on one canister, because while you CAN do the looping system like you mentioned, it will dramatically reduce the amount of flow you're getting from the filter. I've actually been considering running a designated external pump for a co2 diffusion system, and have my canister go through the in line heater, that way not only do I not lose flow through the filter, but I don't lose the ability to both heat and add co2 to my tank if the filter goes down for some reason.
