Surgery finally..
So about a year ago i had informed everyone i was going to have to have surgery on my right shoulder, well after dealing with the military and all the red tape it's finally approved and scheduled.
Will be going under the knife 02-19-13. Prognosis is good apparently i did a great job and will need at least 4 anchors to put my labrum back in place, and looking at 6 weeks in a sling... Major bummer there really cramping my ability for the next tank build!! Oh well lol at least it's getting resolved!! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2

May the surgery go well and cause you to end up in better shape than you are.

The surgery isn't all that bad. You're asleep for most of it. (All of it if you're lucky)
Had mine done 2 years ago this July(June?). The tough part is the rehab. Do what the therapist tells you. Even when it hurts like hell.

Yea not terribly concerned with the surgery, there is some anxiety naturally but rehab doesn't sound fun

The first few visits are, well, lets just say uncomfortable. They won't make you do anything that will hurt your repair. But you have to do it. Not doing it will cause it to freeze up. You're working to restretch your parts. I started out great. fade to black.
It takes about 100 days for complete reattachment. I have to say I had a great anesthesiologist. I was out for about a minute while they administered the pain block into the nerve in my neck. After the surgery I was awake in minutes and ready to leave. Everything was great. Making phone calls taking care of customers via phone. Then about 3 am it happened. And I found out I am resistant to dilaudid.

I have never really been on pain medicine so hopefully they work for me!

If you feel resistant to what they want you to do in rehab, think to yourself "(hero's name here) would do it, so can I!"

I can't believe it's been so long already - I'm glad you're finally getting it taken care of.

Glad this is coming together. It's one of those things that just needs to be done, kinda likes an oil change. I've had to go into the 'shop' a few time over the years. I find when look at in in that context I don't heard trip out over it.
You'll do fine.

Good luck and don't hit on more than one nurse per visit, they talk you know.
At least it's a scheduled repair, not major component replacement due to trauma |

I had the same surgery. Recovery was pretty terrible really. Best part was I got off work nearly 3 months. Just for that reason I'd be happy to get the other shoulder done too. I'll take excruciating pain over work any day.
