Lindernia rotundifolia keeps melting!

Hi,

I got some Lindernia rotundifolia over almost 2 weeks ago and after about a week I noticed that the leaves and stems of the plant are started to melt. I read that this was an easy plant to grow. What's wrong with mine?

I did plant the bunch with the lead weight still attach because otherwise it kept floating. I am still getting new growth at the tops, but those also seem to melt after awhile.

3 gallon
9 Watt 6400K CF

Dose Excel
All Macros and Flourish comprehensive.

HELP. Thanks.

I am no expert, but have had the same problem with this plant.
It is growing really well at the moment after redoing my tank with a very nutrient rich layer under the substrate.
You may try adding root tabs under it and make sure it is also getting enough light.
Hope my info is of some help to you!

this plant never seems to root that deeply for me, despite giving it 2-3 inches of aquasoil. It likes BRIGHT light, high CO2 levels and a KH below 5 degrees (my experience) and GH of at least 3 degrees.

i follow these rules and this plant seems to grow incessantly, i trim it every 2 weeks or so removing a softball sized ball every time.

I would certainly wonder if the excel is melting the plant. I do not know this as i do not let excel / metricide anywhere near my tanks
