Any experience with 65 watt cfl 6500k
I have a simple co2 injected 10 gallon with a clamp light over it. I want to get a nice 65watt 6500k cfl for it. Will these cfls grow carpet plants, be alright for moss (java or xmas), how is the ambient light, good place to buy? Appreciate the feedback.

They are fine for lighting, and can grow carpet plants. They will be fine for the plants you have chosen as well.
You can probably purchase them at your local hardware store.

Are those the big big ones? I've wanted to try one myself... Smaller ones with dome reflectors do well, I'd imagine that thing's a beast.

I have seen some of these at the hardware store that are the bulb only. You will need a ballast to run it if it doesn't come with it. This is usually the case for the security lights. The ballast is contained in the unit and the replacement bulbs are separate.

Here, at the local menards it's a giant compact fluorescent with a standard base.
