Algae Grower

Getting closer!
Thanks to all the wonderful people on the various Forums here, my 55Gal is almost back to full health. I've added a number of new plants and fish, started dosing EI, restored my biofilter/BB, cleaned up my green algae bloom, eradicated BBA, all in the course of about two months! You all are great!
I have a new annoyance now. Looks like red to black dust on my Java Fern and lower/older Hygro leaves. Also some on my, um, I dunno... Any ideas? Btw, I use 9 ml Excel daily, dose extra potassium (fixed my hygro pinholes right up!!) and extra iron. |

Hello, I may be wrong but the crypts leave looks fine, some crypts can grow brown leaves like my petchii and some of my wendtii. It's hard to say but it does not look like algae.
The java fern leaves which looks bad maybe just old leaves that should be cut. Are there new leaves which look healthy? Careful with Excel, pour the recommanded dose, do not overdose, unless you are looking for a particular result.
