ADA Lilly Pipe Functional Question

Howdy Guys and Gals,

Is there any reason from a functional standpoint to not have the inflow pipe and outflow lilly pipe on opposite sides of the tank?

I am going to split my plumbing so that my eheim filter only has the burden of the Cerges reactor while my eheim pump will push/pull water through my inline heater and UV sterilizer. Having all this plumbing/equipment concentrated on one side of the stand through one opening would be a PITA, that's why I ask about the feasibility of having the inflow and outflow on opposite sides of the tank.

Thanks Much!

The flow goes across the top and then down, and back along the substrate to the inflow. I think potentially you'd pick up less debris with them split up. Real world though, I doubt it would have much impact.
