what's your fav magazine?

hello all.

haven't seen this topic on this board before...

my gf has offered me a new mag subscription for christmas. i'm thinking of tropical fish hobbyist. the overseas mags (maybe practical fishkeeping?) don't seem to be available on newsstands anymore, at least here.

i've read some of karen randall's articles in aquarium fish mag in the past (2-3 years ago?) and they've been really good.

which mag would you (not) choose (emphasis on plant related articles, of course)?

My favorite mag is "Field and Stream"...

All time favorite magazine is a British import called "Fortean Times". It is a "journal" of strange phenomena and general weirdness. Stuff like medical anomalies, Nazi UFOs, Bigfoot, Ogo Pogo. Nothing to take seriously.

Just a lot of fun!

All time Favorite Mag: Truckin'

I only get one aquarium related magazine and it is Aquarium Fish (not recommended for more than the pictures btw). I got 12 issues for $4. That is the only reason why I have kept my subscription.

I subscribed to Aquarium Fish for quite a few years but it's just the same basic articles over and over again now. My favorite Aquaria magazine now is Tropical Fish Hobbyist, although I'm considering a FAMA subscription now.
I'm a mag nut, though. My other favorites are: Men's Health, Automobile, Road & Track, Gourmet, Travel & Leisure, and Audio Video Interiors.

FAMA is good for the adverts, otherwise it is a major yawn, IMHO. I subscribed about 4 months ago and that's the last time I'll do that. Now considering the AGA pub or TFH.

With all of the fishkeeping information now available online, I have trouble justifying the time and expense of a fishkeeping magazine.

Of course, that is true of just about any hobby-related magazine. My current scrips are Car and Driver (IMO, the best monthly mainstream car mag), Wood (a woodworking magazine published by Better Homes and Gardens), and Popular Mechanics.

Subscribe to the AGA and get The Aquatic Gardener. I believe it's a bi-monthly publication, but you won't find a better resource than that.
