Didn't you leave out some important info specifically the size of your tank ?
But generally the answer at this time is yes and no.
Is your tank this size ?

Or this size ?Or somewhere in between ? I'm betting somewhere in between.

I left out the dimensions, sorry. Although they can be googled of course. The tank is 12" tall by 12" wide by 9" deep.

The Kessil 150W way too much. Aqueon Evolution ok. Another you might look into is this, http://buildmyled.com/custom-led-strip/. See this thread with photos http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=198196

Okay why is it too much light? According to this it is in the medium light category: http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=160396

Its 56 par at 18" So figure 10" for my tank because of the substrate and it is probably almost high light category? No?

I was a bit mistaken. My opinion was based upon a photo I saw and mis- remembered. I was thinking of this light http://reefbuilders.com/2012/07/09/1...on/#more-60222. The Kessil might be ok, but it appears from the vids I've seen so far better suited to larger and deeper tanks. Keep in mind if this light causes algae there's no returning it and a $225 a pop that's an expensive mistake. Why not consider designing your own led light from that other link. It will cost you less [ $119] and even if you bought two the price would be about the same as the Kessil.

I was thinking of going with them, but I there do not seem to be par readings so not sure it would be much better then the fugeray I already have?

PAR would be a least the same. A casual look at leds in general lets one know they are all very much the same.
Here's some pluses. 1.Custom led choice enabling the user to achieve good par and pleasing very high color rendering index at the median kelvin temp of 5500-5900K [ closer to tropical sunlight]. 2.Custom optics. You could pm that other poster that I linked to and ask her what she thinks of those leds by Build My Led. Btw, This type of multi-color led isn't entirely a new concept Acan [ Acan 600 prism led] has a similar led light which I'm aware came out early last year.

Aesthetics are always a consideration, at least for a lot of people. Most likely any of the above named options are going to work, so which do you prefer aesthetically? Personally, I really like the look of the Kessil over a cube shaped tank, more so than a strip light.
